We crossed paths my dear Me; A squealing weasel and a burned dog; I protected you, fighting for me And I dragged your damaged existence With strict hate, A relentless steam. But you kept pace for love, for dread, That killing machine. You couldn't stop, poor battered me, You wanted blood, and I drained it all, All over you. Selfless, selfish, Existence, vengeance... I wanted to be, you wanted more So you killed me And us both. Now the path flows But not for me. But you, you Me, you keep tracking, Keep pace, You kill, you kill! Who can blame you? For now you be, But not for being, That other, Was me.

Oh! Children of a Summer past, While I run, spin and turn I do not spare my Watchful Eye. My Children of a Summer past! The fear in modesty is covered! The fear in modesty is covered! I am the forgotten fossil, The foul breath of Truth. Seven times seven tentacles Behind the shade of the Just. Because I AM eternal And I have been before being. I AM memory and I AM projection, I am He who clouds the silver lining. Oh! Children of a Summer past, While I run, spin and turn I do not spare my Watchful Eye. My Children of a Summer past, The fear in modesty is covered. The fear in modesty is covered. I am not the Wolf That dies behind every stride to it's Prey. I am not the Lamb That flees to it's unavoidable end And surrenders, meek, it's neck. Nay! Sometimes I am the Raven that devours it's remains, Sometimes I am the Hound that protects the herd, The dog that hunts wolves But at the end of the journey —howls About a lamb's leg.

about

This album was recorded in the solitude of winter and with the few things at hand: a phone recorder (the miracle of 2019 technology) and two banjos dubbing as electric guitars.

The absence of electric gear is the fruit of a period of acoustic cleansing and a lack of money or lobbies to borrow musical instruments.

The lyrics featured are rearrangements of two 'poems' by M. Whyte [check the songs to read the lyrics] that, mostly, explore the cynic 'truths' about heroism. And some winks (as the cover art reveals) to Æsop's fable "The Dog & Its Reflection".

Intro and Outro piano tracks are field recordings of Whyte rehearsing in a retreat house in La Plata (Sølvet).

There goes the comeback of Sølvgråbein after years of cryogenic sleep.
